FRP grating can be used as paving material for platforms of chemical plants due to its advantages of corrosion resistance, no paint, no maintenance and long service life. In most cases it serves over twenty years. FRP grating is more easier to install, compared to steel gratings. Since it’s light, there’s no need to use lifting equipment during installation. And it’s very easy to cut or drill without decrease its mechanical property. A portable cutting or drilling machine is enough. That brings even more convenience to movable platform. And the moderate flexibility relieves fatigue from long time operation, which improves working efficiency.
Plants (such as chemical plants, steel mills) usually many walkways. Those made by welding round steel into the aisle need painting as anti-corrosion coating every year. But the aisles with FRP grating need no maintenance and have bright colors. It makes the working environment easy and enjoyable!
3. Corrosive material rack
Battery factories have a large number of corrosive materials. Using FRP grating can solve the problem of traditional shelf corrosion effectively.
The production equipments of chemical plant, petrochemical factories usually have several or even dozens of floors. FRP stair treads is not only easy to install but can also bear corrosive damages and have a better anti-slip effect.
5. Trench cover
Waste of chemical factories is usually corrosive, electrolytic workshop smelter; chemical processing workshop of power plant; pickling plant, battery factory, electroplating factory; pharmaceutical factory, printing and dyeing, salt etc. The traditional trench cover materials cannot resist the corrosion effectively and lifespan is only a few years or even months. This is never a problem for FRP!
In workshops with corrosive mateirals, such as pulp workshops and electroplating workshops, the traditional operation is workers stays with products, waste residue and waste liquid on the same ground which causes much inconvenience and damages to floors. Dual-floor with FRP gratings as top layer brings different application. Workers and products stay on the upper grating layer while those waste liquid and waste residue can be discharged to the lower substrate ground. The wastes can be cleaned away by water flushing. That makes it easy for workers to operate and for on-site managing.
7. Off-shore oil platform
Traditional off-shore oil platform use steel plates as pavior, which can be corroded by sea water and climate and bring safety problem. FRP grating is now widely used in such severe cases. The weight of FRP gratings is only one fourth of steel, which relieves the burden of support structures and deducts the total cost of the platforms.
The high voltage equipments and large storage tanks usually require fencing for safety reason. Mincom FRP the ideal material for such case due to its nature of electrically insulation, anti-corrosion, bright color and easy-to-install. It can also be used as windows or fences of chemical factories.
9.Tank top platform
The aisles of tank top often suffer serious corrosion with rust everywhere. The rusty platforms or aisles can bring along potential dangers. FRP platforms avoid such pains.
In sewage treatment field, FRP grating can be used as pavior of the operating platform under the cooling tower or as hanger of the biochemical sewage treatment pool, or as the maintenance walkways and deodorization cover of sewage treatment plants.
Using FRP material as ship deck or step bridge reduces the ship weight and increases the ships’ cargo loading capacity. The stability of FRP materials protects the ship from sea water corrosion or cargo corrosion. Its diamagnetism nature makes it perfect for application on military minesweeper.
